Environment Week Day 2

Day 2: Community Cleaning Campaign and Environmental Kahoot Quiz – 14 July 2026

The second day of Environment Week 2026 focused on community participation through a cleaning campaign aimed at promoting environmental responsibility and maintaining a clean and healthy environment.

The activity was led by the Minister for Climate Change and Environment, Hon. Maina Talia, and the Permanent Secretary, Ms. Pepetua Latasi, who joined members of the public, government officials, and stakeholders in the campaign. Participants worked together to collect litter and clean public areas, demonstrating a shared commitment to environmental protection and community wellbeing.

The cleaning campaign reinforced the importance of collective action in addressing waste management challenges and preserving Tuvalu’s environment for future generations.

Following the cleaning campaign, the Department of Environment hosted an Environmental Kahoot Quiz, providing an interactive platform for participants to test their knowledge on environmental issues, including climate change, biodiversity conservation, waste management, and sustainable practices.
