Provided through the Biodiversity Unit, this service focuses on the protection, conservation, and sustainable management of Tuvalu’s terrestrial and marine ecosystems, native species, and environmentally significant areas.
Information, Knowledge and Monitoring
Provided through the Information, Knowledge, and Management Unit, this service manages environmental data, information systems, awareness programs, reporting, and knowledge sharing initiatives to support informed decision-making and public access to environmental information.
Chemical and Waste Management
Provided through the Chemical Unit, this service supports the safe management of chemicals and hazardous substances, promotes environmentally sound waste practices, and assists with compliance with relevant international convention.
Environmental Governance
Provided through the Office of the Director of Environment, this service provides leadership, policy coordination, regulatory oversight, environmental compliance monitoring, strategic planning, and implementation of national environmental legislation and international environmental commitments.
Land Degradation and Sustainable Land Management
Provided through the Land Degradation Unit, this service develops and implements measures to prevent land degradation, improve soil quality and health, strengthen ecosystem resilience, and promote sustainable land-use practices.
